Northern Offshore Ltd. was created in July 2000
and reorganized into its current form on June 2,
2005 when a new Board of Directors was elected. The
company was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in
September 2007 and trades under the symbol “NOF”. In
late 2007 and early 2008, a new management team was
formed to undertake a growth strategy for the company. This
group of industry professionals set out to:
- Operate more effectively
- Move aggressively to grow shareholder value through
quality acquisitions
- Raise the visibility of the company in the industry
and financial communities
- Attract the industry’s top talent
The company currently operates five drilling units
in South East Asia and Europe and one floating production
unit currently based in the southern UK. With
this solid roster of equipment and a thirst for opportunity,
NOF’s objectives are to grow the company while continually
meeting or exceeding the expectations of our current
customers. The following are some of the highlights
of the NOF fleet and its plans:
- The semi-submersible Energy Driller is currently
undergoing a water depth upgrade from 600’ to 1000’
in preparation to commence a three year contract in
India starting Q2 2008.
- The drillship Energy Searcher is currently underway
to Indonesia after completing a recent drilling
campaign in the Philippines. The ship will continue
to be marketed worldwide in an environment of high
demand.
- The floating production unit Northern Producer
is currently undergoing upgrades and life enhancements
in preparation for an upcoming 5 year contract
in the UK sector of the North Sea.
- The jackup Energy Exerter, which is currently
working in Denmark, has recently secured a contract
for upcoming work in the Pechora Sea, offshore
northern Russia. The rig is scheduled to mobilize
in May 2008 for this program of estimated five
months duration.
- The jackup Energy Enhancer and Energy Endeavour
continue to perform in Denmark for their customer
Maersk Oil and Gas. Both rigs are being marketed
worldwide for work after completion of their current
contracts in Denmark ending Q3 2008 and Q3 2009
respectively.
A new subsidiary company Northern Offshore UK Ltd.
has now been organized with its functional base in
Aberdeen, to staff and operate the Energy Exerter,
Energy Enhancer, and Energy Endeavour as their current
contracts are completed. |
